Spotting Hurricane Michael charity scams

PHOENIX - It's hard to watch the devastation from Hurricane Michael and not want to do something to help.

But it's that giving spirit that scammers work to take advantage of after every disaster.

So before you give to any charity make sure to check them out first.

Charity accountability is tracked by websites including the Better Business Bureau's Give.org, Charitywatch.org, Guidestar.org, and Charitynaviagtor.org.

The Federal Trade Commission has more ways to protect yourself here.
