A lot of us are getting political texts, tut there's one that has some of you very concerned.

It involves when you vote.

Bruce emailed me saying, "I just received a text from "President Trump"

The text said: "your early vote has not yet been recorded on Arizona's roster. I need you to vote GOP." It also contained a link to find polling places.

Bruce was concerned about a president soliciting votes for the party, if it was the president.

I wondered how someone could know if I voted and what other information they could find out?

In Arizona, people can legally request the following voter information:

  • Name
  • Political affiliation
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Birth year
  • Occupation
  • How much you voted in the last four years

Matt Roberts with the state's Secretary of State's office said political parties, the media and others request it frequently.

However, the information cannot be used for commercial purposes and costs more than $500.

Now, going back to the text, I'm concerned it's just a scam.

Click on a bad link and hackers can get in.

I went to the site and called the number. I got nothing.

And the Republican party didn't respond in time for this story.

So if you get a similar link, don't click it.

You just don't know. Check out other sources.

In this case, polling place locations.
