Want the lowest airfare prices? Try traveling on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday.
George Hobica with airfarewatchdog.com says those travel days have the best deals. But he says there is no best day to buy airline tickets.
Also, he advises signing up for airline alerts that allow you to pick a travel route and be notified when there's a price drop.
If you're involuntarily bumped from a flight, you may have more recourse than you thought.
By law, you're entitled up to 400 percent of your one-way fair payment in cash, depending on when you're able to get to your destination.
And you can get up to $3,300 for lost or damaged luggage. Don't expect that maximum amount as airlines will likely fight you and demand receipts, pictures and more as proof.
Thinking about renting a car? You're going to be asked to buy insurance, but many experts say if you have good insurance yourself, you likely don't need theirs.
Make sure to check your insurance coverage and any credit card insurance offers before buying rental car insurance.
If you are traveling, I hope it's a safe trip and one where you can save a little cash.
