It doesn't matter where you live in the Valley.

If you have a phone and a computer, you're a target for scammers.

I've never seen so many people hit so hard by scam calls and emails as I am seeing right now.

So, I asked you for the numbers of people harassing you day and night.

You gave me hundreds of them on the Let Joe Know Facebook page.

And I called dozens back, ready to confront the people harming you.

I was able to yell at a few of them about being scammers.

But most of the time, the number was disconnected or the call went nowhere.

That's because most of the numbers aren't real.

They were spoofed.

That means the scammers were able to pick a different number that would show up on your caller ID.

I found plenty of places online where you can do that for a small cost.

Spoofing and Voice Over Internet technology have allowed these scammers to call from anywhere and hide.

I don't think I got any of these people to change their ways.

But I felt good letting them know how I feel.
