Let Joe Know: Are you on the unclaimed money list?

Posted at 3:07 PM, Aug 06, 2018

Could you or your family have money or valuables just waiting to be claimed?

A record $64 million in unclaimed property was handed out last year by the state. And right now, the state's Department of Revenue is trying to find owners of about $300 million worth of unclaimed funds and belongings.

Typically, the belongings are left in abandoned safety deposit boxes. After a certain period of time, they are auctioned off.

Those funds and any unclaimed money are held and can be claimed for 35 years.

The department wants you to have that money. We do too.

So, here are 5 names of people who've had unclaimed money waiting for years and their last known city address:

Jerard F Fanning/Mesa
Marie Popowski/Scottsdale
Bea Stipanovich/Phoenix
Margaret Zonder/Tucson
Robert R Jr Paiz/Phoenix

If this is you, or this person has passed away and you're a direct family member, contact the State's Department of Revenue unclaimed money site.

You will have to go through a screening process.

If you know where a family member may be, please share this with them.
