Rolled ice cream is one of the newest trends in ice cream, but not all rolled ice cream is created equal. One shop that rises to the top is Nomadic Ice Cream Rolls in Glendale.
Nino, the master roller and guy in charge at Nomadic, is genuinely passionate about rolling ice cream and it shows.
Nino, a former firefighter, started Nomadic in 2015 after he was injured on the job. He wanted to start his own business and one day came across a video of rolled ice cream online. We’ve all been mesmerized by one of those before, but Nino was obsessed. A week later, he ordered his first machine and the rest is history.
Nomadic starts with a cream base, but dairy-free options are available. Then you choose your ingredients. They’ve got everything from fruit to cereal. The ingredients are smashed, chopped and frozen in front of you. Finally, the frozen mix is rolled for you to eat. What makes Nomadic stand out the most is the fresh ingredients used.
You can try Nomadic Ice Cream Rolls Monday through Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Thursday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.
