PHOENIX — An employee called 911 while pursuing a golf cart stolen from an apartment complex.

Phoenix police report that on May 29 dispatchers received a call from an apartment complex employee who was following a stolen golf cart.

The worker was on the roof doing repairs at an apartment complex near 16th Street and Bell road when he noticed the golf cart was gone. He pursued the suspect, later identified as Levi Kenneth Glover, 19, until police stopped him near 24th Street and Greenway Road.

Glover allegedly told police that he drank roughly seven beers in the past couple of hours and needed a ride home. Court documents show Glover's house is about ten miles from the apartment complex where he allegedly stole the golf cart.

Police say his blood-alcohol content was 0.205.

Glover has been charged with theft, and as of Tuesday he had not been charged with any alcohol-related offenses in connection with the incident.
