Three Arizona State University students came to a woman's rescue after a man allegedly tried to steal her purse, according to police documents.

The woman was walking outside ASU Gammage in Tempe when the man, later identified as 20-year-old Anthony Penunuri Valles, grabbed her purse.

The woman held onto her purse and was dragged about ten feet, causing scratches to her arms and legs, said police. Three nearby students stepped in and held Valles down until officers arrived.

Valles was booked into jail on charges of aggravated robbery.

A witness told police that while Valles was on the ground he "waved off" another man in a vehicle nearby. Police did not know who he was.

The next day, officers located the suspect vehicle at Valle's mother's home in Chandler. Valle's mother helped police locate 35-year-old Khalid Jabar Henry.

Henry reportedly told police that he planned the robbery and told Valles it would be a "one time thing." He reportedly said he was going to jump in and help Valles, but Valles told him to go.

Henry was arrested and booked inot jail on charges of aggravated robbery. He also had two outstanding warrants.
