Court records show that police arrested a man on August 30 whom they say set fire to another person's car in a dispute over money.

Police report that on July 9, the victim was in an argument outside his home near 32nd Street and Roeser Road with 52-year-old Tommy Leroy Stone. Stone allegedly left the home and returned 15 minutes later. He poured gasoline on the victim's 1994 Mazda truck and set it on fire as the victim and his friend watched.

Stone left the area while the victim and his friend used a garden hose to put out the fire before it spread to the house and a nearby wooden fence.

Police say they managed to get a surveillance photo that reportedly shows Stone at a nearby Circle K getting $1 worth of gasoline during the time he left the home after the argument.

Stone initially told police he was out of town when the fire happened but changed his story after police showed him the surveillance photo.

Stone has been charged with arson.
