A Phoenix man developed an online relationship with a girl whom he believed was 15, by sending her nude photos of himself.
Court records show that the man sent multiple nude pictures and videos of himself and other men to the "girl," and invited her over to his house to "clean dishes" and engage in sexual activities.
Police report that 47-year-old Richard Norman Bevan started the relationship in early May, with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old girl.
He met her through an online social media site. The relationship lasted about a month and during that time, Bevan allegedly sent the "girl" over 10 nude pictures of himself and other men. He also reportedly sent a nude video of himself.
Police say that on June 4, Bevan invited the girl over to his home to "clean dishes" and have sex.
Bevan was arrested at his home near Interstate 17 and Thunderbird Road.
After his arrest, Bevan reportedly told police that he knew the girl was 15, but also said that people lie about their age all the time online.
He also said, "It was nice that a younger female was interested in him, but knew it was wrong."
Bevan is facing charges of luring a minor for sexual exploitation and 10 counts of furnishing obscene materials to a minor.
