A homeowner recently caught a man who broke into his house in Phoenix.
Court records show on March 30, a homeowner near 24th street and Indian School Road surprised a burglar, chased him down the street and waited for police to arrive.
Police say the homeowner had just returned from the grocery store and pulled up to his home on a bicycle. He noticed his front door slightly opened and entered the home, finding 33-year-old Jesse Gallagher standing in his living room.
Police report that the homeowner rushed in and tackled the burglar. Gallagher managed to escape, but the homeowner was not about to give up as he chased Gallagher, tackling him again a few houses down the street.
When Police arrived and arrested Gallagher, they say they found him with a backpack full of items belonging to the homeowner, including his iPad, ID and passport.
Gallagher told police that a friend told him that there was marijuana in the home and he was there to find that.
Gallagher is facing a charge of burglary.
