PHOENIX — Twin brothers are arrested and accused of committing over 70 convenience store thefts in Glendale and West Phoenix.

Phoenix police report that from August of 2018 until April 2019 Jorge Luna and his twin brother Alberto, age 20, were committing Circle K thefts about twice a week.

Court records show the twins usually steal beer, cigarettes and cash worth over $26,000 in total from the stores in West Phoenix and Glendale.

They sell the beer on the street for $10 to $15 per case.

They were both arrested at separate locations on April 9.

Alberto allegedly admitted to two or three beer thefts a week to support his $30 a day heroin habit.

Jorge also reportedly admitted stealing the items to pay for hotel rooms, food, and drugs. Police say their appearance is very similar.

They have been charged with theft, as police in Phoenix and Glendale continue to gather evidence connecting the brothers to more incidents.
