A Tolleson woman woke up to find a tattoo-faced man in her room, armed with a golf club recently.

Tolleson police report that in the early morning of May 23 a woman woke up to her dog barking and found a tattoo-faced man in her room armed with a golf club.

The suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Edgar Ivan Lopez, allegedly forced the woman into a safe in the closet of her home, near 75th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

The victim reached for a gun that was in the safe and then Lopez reportedly fought with her, eventually taking the gun away from her.

He allegedly bound the woman with shoelaces and a USB cord and carried her into another room, as he rummaged through her home.

Police say Lopez stole about $40,000 worth of property including coins, weapons, electronics and the woman's car.

Glendale police located Lopez passed out in the stolen vehicle, parked in front of a daycare, near 43rd and Missouri avenues.

Police say the woman’s stolen handgun was in his lap. Police needed to use a Taser on Lopez to get him out of the vehicle.

Police say Lopez was found in possession of methamphetamines and reportedly told police that he was in "big trouble."

He is being held without bond on multiple charges including kidnapping, armed robbery, and aggravated assault.
