A Glendale woman is accused of using a fake identity to purchase furniture to sell.

Gilbert police report that they were contacted on September 26 by a warehouse manager for a furniture store in Gilbert.

The manager reported to police that a bank called them saying a $6,700 purchase was made with the fake identity of a person in North Carolina.

The victim was contacted and stated that they were never in Gilbert.

Surveillance video showed 42-year-old Joanna Russell as the person who purchased the furniture, having it delivered to her home in Glendale.

When police went to her home near 7th Avenue and Union Hills Drive, they reportedly found the furniture in the garage. They also allegedly found a couple there who were about to purchase the furniture from Russell.

Upon her arrest, Russell reportedly admitted to using a false identity to buy the furniture with the intention of selling it.

Russell has been charged with fraudulent schemes, identity theft, and trafficking in stolen property.
