Chandler PD: Four people arrested for using 'movie money' to purchase goods at Walmart

Posted

Chandler police have arrested four people for allegedly using counterfeit money to purchase $3,000 in goods.

Court records show that on Aug. 26, police arrested two women for passing off "movie money" as real money at the same Walmart store where their two male friends passed the phony money two days earlier.

Police report that 20-year-olds, Adree Jakelle Quattlebaum and Shaikivia Danae Ware, were shopping at a  Chandler Walmart, each purchasing about $600 worth of merchandise. They each went to different check out lines and tried to use counterfeit money to pay for the items, police said.

Records show that the money was readily identifiable as fake since it read "For motion picture use only" on the front of the $100 bills.

Loss prevention officers tried to contact them outside of the store, but the two ran off into an awaiting car with two men in it.

Police located and pulled over the car a short time later. They said that in addition to the two women and two men in the car, they found more counterfeit money totaling $2,500.

Police said that the two men in the car, identified as 28-year-old Jaman O'Neal Chandler and 29-year-old Kendrick Martel Clay, were caught on surveillance video at the same Walmart store two days prior, each passing $900 in fake money.

All four have been charged with fraudulent schemes and forgery.
