A Phoenix man is in custody for allegedly running over his roommate whom he believed stole from him.
Phoenix police report that on December 8, Ruperto Francisco Torrez, age 23, got into an argument with his roommate, accusing him of stealing items from the house where Torrez lives with his mother.
The victim left the house on his bicycle with Torrez pursuing him in his vehicle.
Torrez then allegedly ran over the victim causing, "multiple fractures to his lower body."
Upon his arrest, Torrez reportedly admitted to hitting the victim with his car but said he was just trying to knock him off the bike.
Torrez, who listed his occupation as a caregiver, has been charged with aggravated assault.
