PHOENIX — A mom allegedly told her minor daughter to hide drugs in her bra during a west Phoenix traffic stop.

Court records show that on September 19 an officer pulled over a car near 67th Avenue and McDowell Road for a traffic violation and expired registration.

Police say the driver of the car, Rufina Lopez Covarruvia, 43, was driving on a suspended license. During the traffic stop three juveniles, ages 13, 10 and two, exited the car. Later a small white bag fell out of the teen's bra as she was holding her younger sibling, according to police.

Police say the bag contained cocaine.

Court records show that the teen's mother, Covarruvia, "told her to hide it in her bra as the police were pulling her over." The teen also allegedly told police that her mother does not use cocaine but buys it, cuts it and bags it to sell.

Covarruvia has been charged with conspiracy, possession of narcotics for sale.
