PHOENIX — A man and woman were arrested in North Phoenix for selling misbranded beer and drugs out of a store they own, according to court documents.

Phoenix police report that on March 6, they arrested 43-year-old Maria Hernandez and 46-year-old Alex Chavez Jimenez at their store, Yerberia Aquario, located near 19th and Peoria avenues.

Court records show the pair operate the small retail shop.

Hernandez and Chavez were allegedly selling misbranded beer and drugs in the store.

They allegedly sold the misbranded drugs Barmicil, Gelmicin, and Clotrimazol to undercover officers. These are mostly used to treat skin conditions.

Hernandez and Chavez have been charged with controlling an illegal enterprise selling misbranded drugs.
