SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A man is facing charges for allegedly groping a woman last month at the pool of a Scottsdale resort.

Police report that on June 28, Michael Thomas Crocchiolo, 54, was arrested at his home near Central Avenue and McDowell Road.

Crocchiolo is accused of groping a woman's chest while she was placing her towel over a poolside chair while at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch on June 15.

Witnesses reportedly told police that Crocchiolo had a beer in one hand and reached through the pool fence with the other and grabbed the woman's breast. When confronted by witnesses, Crocchiolo allegedly said he was trying to touch the woman's arm, and "it was an accident."

Police say Crocchiolo retreated to his hotel room, but then left the area.

Police talked with Crocchiolo's wife inside the hotel room, who allegedly told them that Crocchiolo said he "accidentally grabbed a lady's arm."

Court records show that Crocchiolo has an extensive 20-year criminal history with arrests for assault of a minor, resisting arrest, and indecent exposure in 2015.

Crocchiolo has been charged with disorderly conduct and sexual abuse.
