A man impersonating a United States Marshal was arrested after clearing a Mesa bar.

Mesa police report that on September 3, Richard Ciancuillo, 55, approached a bar near Power and McKellips roads.

He was driving a black SUV and was wearing a black polo shirt that said, "Fugitive Recovery Agent." He was also wearing a tactical belt with a handgun and handcuffs.

He reportedly ordered a person to move their car so that he could park.

Entering the bar, Ciancuillo stated that he was a U.S. Marshal and ordered patrons out of the patio area.

A Mesa police officer challenged Ciancuillo and requested credentials. After first refusing, Ciancuillo gave the officer a 'concealed weapons permit.'

Ciancuillo was then disarmed and detained in handcuffs for police.

He's been charged with impersonating a peace officer.
