After getting bit by one officer, a car thief suspect reportedly bit another in an attempt to get away.

Court records show that on October 10, police responded to the area of 14th Street and Buckeye Road for a reported car theft.

Police say that they spotted the suspect, 23-year-old Dominic Joseph Gracia, in the stolen truck and pursued him. Gracia got out of the truck and ran. Phoenix Police K-9 Officer 'Jerry' located Gracia and bit him. Gracia reportedly pushed on the dog's eyes with his thumbs to get the dog to release him.

Gracia allegedly attacked the other officers who were trying to restrain him, kicking some and biting another. Police Tazed Gracia several times to get him to comply.

Gracia denied stealing the truck, saying that he found it.

He's been charged with vehicle theft, cruelty to animals and aggravated assault.

Phoenix Police report this afternoon that Jerry's injuries were minor.
