PHOENIX — A woman has been arrested after allegedly stealing a sword and a pot of warm food from a north Phoenix home.
Phoenix police report that on August 8 they responded to a home near 7th Street and Dunlap Avenue for a reported burglary. Residents reportedly told police that they saw a woman in their backyard carrying a sword and a pot of food taken from their home.
As police responded they allegedly saw 33-year-old Charlette Chartier a block away from the house, carrying a sword and a pot of food.
Police say the resident's stove was still hot when they arrived. The estimated value of the sword is $250.
Upon her arrest, Chartier allegedly told police that she was coming from a friend's home to bring dinner to her boyfriend. She also reportedly told police the sword was for decoration.
She has been charged with burglary.
