An armed citizen is credited with capturing a suspect after the man assaulted his girlfriend and stabbed another man, according to court documents.
Police said the March 21 incident began when 34-year-old Ryan Michael Schell and his girlfriend were refused service at Bandaids near 7th Street and Thomas Road, because the bartender believe they were already intoxicated.
Two witnesses saw Schell get into his car and quickly leave the parking lot. He then was seen pulling up to his girlfriend and trying to force her into his vehicle.
One witness told police he ran over to assist the woman. As the good Samaritan tried to separate Schell from the girl, Schell reportedly told the man he was going to "kill him and stab him in the throat." Schell made good on his threat by stabbing the man in the cheek with his keys.
Another witness grabbed his handgun out of his truck and advanced on Schell, demanding that he get on the ground.
Schell complied and remained there until police arrived.
Schell is being charged with assault and aggravated assault.
