MARICOPA, AZ — A Maricopa woman has been arrested in a horrific case of child abuse where an 11-year-old girl was physically abused and forced to eat her own vomit.

According to court documents, the child was removed from her home on December 7, after she was seen by classmates with bruising on her body.

The girl disclosed to Department of Child Safety investigators that she was abused by her step-mother, Erin Darr.

The victim was taken to Cardon Children’s Medical Center, where doctors say she appeared underweight and had dark circles under her eyes.

Police say the girl had thin hair, due to it "being ripped off her head when her stepmother pulled her by her hair."

She also allegedly had a hairline scar on her caused when she was hit on her head with a phone. The girl reportedly told investigators that Darr used 'super glue' to glue her head shut.

Doctors reported seeing several scars and pre-existing injuries to her hands and feet. They also reportedly found blisters in her mouth from eating food that was too hot.

The girl told investigators that Darr would force her to eat rotten leftovers and when she threw up, Darr would force her to eat it.

Court documents show that in the following weeks, the a sibling came forward to school counselors to verify the allegations.

He allegedly said that Darr coached him and his siblings to lie to DCS, if they were questioned.

Darr has been charged with 10 counts of child abuse.
