The man who was stabbed eight times, by an admitted methamphetamine user who said he heard voices, has died.
Mesa police report that 20-year-old Gregorio Munoz Jr. was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man eight times on February 6.
Police say the victim was walking through a Fry's parking lot near a bus stop in the area of Alma School Road and Main Street. when he was attacked from behind by Munoz.
The victim and witnesses gave a description of Munoz, who was later found by police in the area.
The victim suffered seven stab wounds to his abdomen and one to his forearm. The victim died from his injuries on February 12.
Police say Munoz had a pocket knife in his possession that had dried blood on it.
Munoz, a diagnosed schizophrenic, reportedly admitted to using meth for years and was hearing voices at the time of the attack.
Munoz is now being held on a $500,000 bond and has been charged with first-degree murder.
