New information is revealed regarding a barricade situation in Scottsdale on July 28.

The incident happened at a restaurant under renovation at Marshall Way and Indian School Road just after 2:30 a.m.

Police say the property was recently purchased and is being renovated for an opening in October. The victim who often sleeps on a couch overnight at the restaurant has repeatedly been told to leave but is still seen on the property when construction workers arrive in the morning.

Scottsdale police say 39-year-old Brian Holm was asked by the co-owner who his brother, to stay there overnight in case the man returned. When the man did return, he was confronted by Holm and told to leave. The victim punched Holm in the face, and the two fought until the victim left the area.

Holm allegedly followed the man with a bat and struck several times in the side, back and shoulders.

When officers arrived on the scene, Holm barricaded himself inside a building, but after a few hours, he surrendered to police.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Holm has been indicted for with aggravated assault
