A Glendale man reportedly struck a child in his high chair causing multiple skull fractures, bleeding and other injuries.

Glendale Police report that on February 6, a 9-month-old boy was upstairs in his high chair in a home near 75th and Northern avenues. Two other children in the home heard a "loud cry" and went upstairs, finding the injured baby.

Police say that 36-year-old Elijah Joseph Kamara was the only one upstairs in the home at the time.

The child's mother took him to the hospital where trauma doctors reported that the injuries were "non-accidental and acute."

Doctors made a report to police that said the child suffered "two skull fractures, multiple subdural hematomas, and ligament damage around the cervical vertebrae."

Kamara reportedly denied being home at the time of the incident. However, police say cell phone records and the other children show that he was indeed in the home at the time.

Kamara has been charged with child abuse and aggravated assault. He is also currently on probation for a 2014 case of vulnerable adult abuse.
