A Glendale barber used his resources to fend off a potential robbery suspect.

Police say a man walked into the Imperial Barber Shop in Glendale on March 3 and threatened customers before demanding money from one of the barbers.

According to court documents, the suspect, identified as Jeremy Nicholas Alvarez, told the barber, "Prove to me you cut good hair here." The man then ripped the cape off of another customer.

The suspect then grabbed the barber and demanded money. The barber smacked the man with a mirror and pepper-sprayed him, according to the police report.

Alvarez then ran out of the barber shop, but was caught by police nearby.

He was booked into jail and charged with assault and attempted robbery.
