Authorities say a Valley man allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old girl he met through a social media app.
Gilbert police report that Thursday morning they arrested 24-year-old Christopher Jan Laudato Wicker.
Police say in June, an underage girl reported to her parents that when she was 12 years old she was involved in a sexual relationship with Wicker. The girl also told her parents they met online and had sex on multiple occasions.
After talking with police, the victim reactivated her social media account and Wicker reportedly started contacting her again, and asked if she wanted to meet with him in person.
Detectives used the girl's profile to talk to Wicker, and he spoke about his past sexual relationship with the victim, court paperwork said.
At one point during the exchange, Wicker asked the victim if she was going to call police on him, court documents said. He also said he wanted the girl to come to his house at some point, but would have to sneak her inside because his younger brother was home.
On Thursday, Wicker arrived at the victim’s home to pick her up and police were waiting for him, court documents said. When he was arrested, he had a wallet, keys, a cell phone, and three condoms on him.
While being interviewed by detectives, Wicker said the victim initially told him she was in her 20s, but before their first meeting in person she admitted to being 13 years old, court paperwork said. He allegedly admitted to still having a sexual relationship with her despite knowing her age.
At his initial appearance, the judge ordered Wicker held without bond saying, "I believe you pose a substantial danger to the community."
He is being held for luring a minor for sex and seven counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
