Each Friday, we're looking for your help to track down fugitives in our state.

Wanted: Demetri Hickey
Charges: Probation violation of charges of failure to register as a sex offender and amended charges of attempted sexual assault

Hickey is a slippery man, having absconded from probation twice, once arrested in California and another time evading a U.S. Marshal and a police helicopter.

Hickey was convicted of reduced charges of attempted sexual assault in 2010. He served 9 months and then was released on probation. He was "Unsuccessfully discharged from court-ordered sex offender treatment" in March of 2012. He fled and was found by police in California, where he was arrested and extradited to Arizona.

He was again given probation, but refused to take part in any of his probation conditions. He was scheduled to get a GPS monitor installed, but never showed up for his appointment. A few days later a warrant was again issued for his arrest and he was found by a U.S. Marshal at his aunts' house near 27th Street and Thomas Road. He fled from the federal agent, running across Thomas and nearly getting hit by car. He hid from the Marshal and a police helicopter for about 30 minutes before being spotted in an alleyway.

This time, he was sent to prison and stayed there from June 2013 until February 2015. He has now once again absconded from probation and his whereabouts are unknown as he has failed to notify adult probation services of his location.

Hickey is described as 5-foot 6, 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

If you know anything about his whereabouts please contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
