A Mesa man was arrested and accused of beating a woman inside her home because he did not want her to testify against him in an upcoming trial.

Daniel Albert Dove, 47, was arrested on July 6 at his home near Hawes Road and Main Street in Mesa.

According to the police report, Dove was arrested in December for reportedly kidnapping a woman and assaulting her. He was released on bond and fitted with an electronic monitor.

Records show that Dove and the victim had been dating for nearly two years.

Upon his release, Dove allegedly went to the victim's home and refused to leave for two weeks, according to the report. He allegedly beat the woman repeatedly while she was in the fetal position, and demanded that she write a letter to the Maricopa County report recanting her statement about the alleged December assault.

He claims the woman lied in the police report.

Dove also allegedly threatened to harm the woman if she showed up to trial and testified against him.

He faces charges of assault, unlawful imprisonment and influencing a witness.
