Tempe manufacturer donates electric delivery bikes to local restaurants

A Valley company that builds electric scooters and bikes found an opportunity to use its latest product to help local restaurants boost their business during tough times brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

Tempe-based manufacturer Phat Scooters during the past couple weeks gave away 10 customized models of its new Phleet Delivery ebikes to local restaurants in and around Phoenix to enhance their ability to make deliveries and stay afloat during tough times.

The restaurant industry is among the hardest-hit by business closures amid stay-at-home orders meant to curb the spread of COVID-19.

In Arizona, restaurants are considered essential but may do business only if they provide food through takeout or delivery options.
