In a list of Maricopa County's highest-paid employees published a year ago by the Phoenix Business Journal, the top three with the biggest paychecks were all medical professionals.
In fact for this year's list, nine of the top 10 highest-paid county employees all hold medical-related jobs, with County Manager Joy Rich the only non-medical executive among that group of employees with six-figure salaries.
Overall, county employees on this year's pay list made more this year than the year earlier.
Medical professionals are a mainstay of both this list and the highest-paid employees with the state of Arizona.
