Health care is already one of the Phoenix area's strongest sectors for new hires, so with hundreds of employees out of work after the Nov. 24 closure of St. Luke's Medical Center in Phoenix, the city is stepping in to help other organizations recruit these job candidates.
Eleven health care companies and organizations signed up for a Dec. 5 hiring event at GateWay Community College's Central City campus.
The event, hosted by the college, Arizona@Work, and the Phoenix Business and Workforce Development Center, will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event isn't just for the St. Luke's workers.
