Two Phoenix companies are offering drive-thru antibody testing that can indicate whether a person has been exposed to Covid-19 and developed antibodies against it, meaning that person has at least some immunity to the coronavirus.

Also called serology testing, antibody testing uses blood serum specimens, as opposed to the molecular test that uses a 5-inch swab pushed through the nose to reach the back of the throat.

The molecular test can only determine if a patient has Covid-19 at that moment.

While waiting for the go-ahead to begin reopening his Mountainside Fitness facilities around the Valley, Tom Hatten has teamed with Mesa-based Patient's Choice Lab to offer drive-thru antibody testing on April 28 in the parking lot of the Glendale fitness center and April 29 at the Mountainside Fitness center in Chandler.
