Scottsdale-based Axon Enterprise Inc. said it will spend $1 million to provide personal protective equipment to first responders in the fight against COVID-19.

Axon said it will also match up to $500,000 in community donations, which may be made to the #GotYouCovered campaign through May 31.

All of the money will go toward purchasing medical masks, gloves and hand sanitizer for first responders, the company said.

"Even throughout this global pandemic, first responders are still stepping forward and risking their lives to assist people in need," Axon CEO and founder Rick Smith said in a statement.
