Hundreds of bars, gyms, movie theaters and water parks in Arizona are applying to reopen even before Covid-19 conditions improve.
When Gov. Doug Ducey’s office and the Arizona Department of Health Services released guidelines last week on when these shuttered businesses could reopen, they also announced a process in which businesses could apply to open earlier depending on certain circumstances.
The Ducey administration was ordered by Judge Tim Thomason to create a path for gyms to reopen.
ADHS has received 500 online applications from businesses wanting to open earlier, a department spokesman confirmed Monday.
