CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. — A 10-year-old boy is in critical condition after he fell off his parent's car while "surfing" on the roof.
Officials from the California City Police Department say they received a call for a child struck by a vehicle near a home in California City.
When police arrived, they discovered the 10-year-old had been "surfing" on top of a car driven by one of his parents.
The boy reportedly slipped and fell in front of the car, and was subsequently run over by his parent.
California City police say the boy was taken to an area hospital for "major injuries."
He is currently in critical condition.
It is unclear if the parent driving the vehicle will be charged for running the boy over.
The accident is under investigation.
