A missing paddle boarder in Florida who was known to dress as “Captain Jack Sparrow” has been found dead.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office in Florida said 43-year-old Joshua Grant Hensley was last seen Saturday evening while launching his paddle board at Hunter Springs Park.

He was last seen “wearing brown, colonial style pants, a brown and white jacket, and a brown bandanna.”

A local news station reported that Hensley was known to dress as the Pirates of the Caribbean character Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp.

Officials said Hensley's paddle board was found by deputies after his disappearance, but he was not located with it.

On Monday morning, the sheriff’s office said Hensley’s body was found in the waters of Kings Bay in Crystal River.

“We offer our deepest condolences to Joshua’s family and friends in this difficult time. ‘Captain Jack’ was a beloved figure in the community and will be missed,” the department said in a statement.

No further information has been released.
