An Indiana state trooper was shot by his 11-year-old son after taking away the boy’s video games, according to court documents obtained by WSBT.

Trooper Matthew Makowski was shot on February 22 and is recovering.

The boy allegedly told police he had been thinking about shooting his father since school that day and devised a plan because “he was done with all of that and wanted it to end.”

The boy told police that he retrieved his father’s firearm from his vehicle outside the home and went to his parents’ bedroom.

He said he waited until his dad rolled over in bed, facing away from the door, and he shot him, court documents say.

Makowski’s wife called police who arrived and arrested the boy.

The boy is facing charges of attempted murder, but according to court documents, said he’d do it again if he didn’t get a PlayStation, an Xbox and a computer.
