The power of music. It can make someone smile, it can make someone cry, it can bring back memories, and it can make people confess, which happened in Murfreesboro last Friday.

The Murfreesboro Daily News Journal in Tennessee reports that Danny Dashay Holmes was on trial for the murder of Cesar Lopez-Flores in December of 2016, and minutes into the trial, Holmes stood up and confessed, saying he felt as if God was putting pressure on him to tell the truth and confess to the murder.

According to Holmes, song lyrics from the song "Redeemed" by Big Daddy Weave, a contemporary Christian band, led him to confess.

The Murfreesboro Daily News Journal said that Holmes took out the lyrics and read them in court, to the amazement of the people in the courtroom.

This is a developing story that will be updated throughout the day. Jesse Knutson will have the full report on NewsChannel 5 at 6 p.m.
