The world-famous Havasupai falls in Grand Canyon hiking permits went on sale Friday morning.

As expected, many rushed to the site promptly at 8 a.m. to reserve their dates.

Just 15 minutes later, the website had messages displaying “we’re experiencing unusually high volume” and even “50 gateway time-out” errors.

Some were able to get through with no problems and reserve their dates.

By 12 p.m. on Friday, there were very few dates left. The only dates left were in February of 2020. If you have a large group to reserve for, the fewer the dates available to you.

Some spent hours on the website trying to bypass the technical difficulties to get their tickets.

Those who were experiencing difficulties were told to email support@HavasupaiReservations.com.

Pricing for 2019 campground reservations are three nights and four days.

$100 per person per weekday night
$125 per person per weekend night (Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights)
