PHOENIX – Did you know that car accidents are the leading cause of death in people between the ages of 16 and 19? It “happens to be the age group with the highest risk of crashes.“
A recent survey from WalletHub showed all 50 states ranked from best to worst in different categories like safety, economic environment and driving laws.
Here are the top five best states for teen drivers.
5. Texas
4. Louisiana
3. Massachusetts
2. New York – they have congested traffic but in NY, public transportation is heavily used so yeah, it makes sense!
And the best state for teen drivers is…
1. Maryland
Now for the five worst states to drive as a teen.
46. Montana
47. Arizona
48. Missouri
49. South Dakota
And the worst state for teenage drivers is…
50. Wyoming
California fell at #18 on the list which is kind of surprising with Los Angeles being a huge traffic hub.
Each state was evaluated based on costs of premiums for teen drivers, teen driver deaths, number of teen DUIs, how much it costs to fix cars, and more. When you put those things into effect, it really makes you think.
