The Advanced Technology and Professional Programs Division at Central Arizona College offers the finest preparation for industry or for transfer to a university. Students can choose among the following AAS Degrees: Agriculture, Computer Aided Drafting, Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Equipment Operator, Welding Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Admin of Justice, Culinary, Hospitality/Tourism, Recreation, and Fitness and Personal Health.

Students will learn in state-of-the-art facilities including a full-service professional kitchen, welding and fabrication shops, heavy equipment simulators, and much more. The CAC faculty brings into the classroom both academic and professional experience. There are many hands-on and lab opportunities, which enhance the classroom experience.

Advanced Technology and Professional Programs works every day to establish and grow workforce development partnerships with local businesses. In conjunction with Sundt Construction, CAC has selected five pre-employment one-year certificates and one three-year academic apprenticeship program that will lead to certifications, certificates, and degrees that prepare students for workforce needs in the areas of heavy equipment operator, structural welding, pipefitting, industrial construction and concrete construction technology. The course offerings meet National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) standards, American Welding Society (AWS) requirements and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour requirements. Students who complete the Associate of Applied Science can go on to pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Industrial Technology Management at Northern Arizona University or a related degree at universities throughout the state.

This is one of many working relationships Central Arizona College has accumulated-other workforce development partnerships include Abbott Nutrition, Daisy Brand, Ehrmann Foods, Frito-Lays, Lucid Motors, and Walmart Distribution, just to name a few. Advanced Technology and Professional Programs hosts multiple summits and job fairs helping connect students to further education or rewarding careers with these businesses.

The Division also provides educational programming for Junior High and High School aged students thinking about their future. These programs engage students in advanced technology skills including robotics, manufacturing, welding and machining. Hands-on, project-based learning in each of these areas exposes students to potential career opportunities in high paying, high demand occupations. Students also gain leadership skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication and time management.

Along with these great opportunities, Central Arizona College is committed to providing the full college experience to all students. Dorms are available at the Signal Peak Campus and all campuses offer dining options, campus activities, and scholarships.
