BP is offering a discount on gas for U.S. healthcare workers during the coronavirus outbreak.

All nurses, doctors, first responders and hospital workers can go online to get a discount code for 50 cents off per gallon the next time they fill up between now and April 30.

The promo codes are good at any BP or Amoco gas station in the U.S. and won’t expire until June 30, 2020.

“Our local first responders, doctors, nurses and hospital workers are the heart of our local communities, they are on the frontlines each day to ensure our loved ones and our communities are taken care of,” BP said in announcing the discount on its website.

The company encouraged everyone to share the bp.com/localheroes discount page with healthcare workers they know and to also use the #bpsupportslocalheroes hashtag to thank them.

To get the discount, medical workers need to verify themselves with ID.me. Once verified, they’ll receive a code that can be entered at a BP or Amoco gas pump.

The gas company has a finder to look up the nearest station.

BP will keep giving out codes until they reach the equivalent of $1 million in cents per gallon of discounts, and users can get up to two codes each.

Crocs

BP is certainly not the only company offering discounts and freebies for healthcare workers.

Crocs offered free shoes, Starbucks is giving away free coffee and Krispy Kreme is offering free donuts to those in the healthcare industry. Medical professionals can also get free pet cameras from Furbo to keep their eye on their animal friends while at work.

WebMD has a list of many other freebies for these hard-working folks on the front lines of fighting COVID-19.

It’s great to see so many companies donating items and giving discounts to nurses, doctors, first responders and other healthcare workers.

Do you know someone who could take advantage of any of these deals?
