Would a free donut on Friday make your day a bit brighter?
If so, you’re going to want to check out Dunkin’s latest deal. In an effort to help the month of March go out like a lamb, the donut and coffee chain is offering a sweet perk. Free Donut Fridays let members of Dunkin’s DD Perks Rewards Program get a free donut anytime they buy a beverage on a Friday this month.
The deal starts this Friday, March 6. In order to take advantage of it, simply download the Dunkin’ app on your phone and enroll for free. You can also do this on DDPerks.com.
“We’re so excited to offer Free Donut Fridays to give all of our DD Perks members — new and existing — an extra special sweet treat as they head into spring,” Stephanie Meltzer-Paul, Dunkin’s vice president of digital and loyalty marketing, said in a press release. “We’re always looking for new ways to show our appreciation to Dunkin’ fans and our DD Perks Rewards Program allows us to celebrate them with fun and exclusive offers throughout the year.”
Looking for the right drink to purchase so you can get your free donut? Consider the seasonal Irish Creme-flavored coffee and espressos. You can get them hot, iced and frozen while supplies last.
During these changeable March days, your free fried breakfast pastry can be glazed, Boston kreme, strawberry frosted with sprinkles or even the Lucky Shamrock Donut, another limited-edition offering while supplies last.
Here’s an image of the Lucky Shamrock, as posted by Dallas Instagrammer @thesweetchica. She says it’s “almost too cute to eat” — but luckily for us, she did. And she loved it.

There are other perks to being a DD Perks member, too. You can earn five points for every dollar you spend on qualifying purchases at Dunkin’, and once you have 200 points, you get a free drink of any size!
Dunkin’ has a sweepstakes going on as well, in conjunction with its Friday free donuts. On March 4, TV’s star cheerleader Gabi Butler kicked off a cheer challenge: Fans can post their own Instagram T-G-I-Free Donut Friday cheer, using the hashtag #FDFSweepstakes and tagging @Dunkin, to win a year’s worth of donuts! Winners will be selected each Free Donut Friday. Go here for the official rules.
If you’re more of a Krispy Kreme fan, that donut shop also has a promotion going on this Friday. Krispy Kreme does Chocolate Glaze Fridays once a month, and this March 6 happens to be the day they offer their popular chocolate glazed donut. This date is called #TGIC for “Thank Goodness It’s Chocolate.” You can check for participating locations here.
Krispy Kreme also has a tasty limited-edition treat you’re going to love right now, but it isn’t St. Patrick’s Day-themed. Instead, Krispy Kreme partnered with Butterfinger to create filled donuts featuring the candy.
These treats are available now, and judging by the photo in this recent tweet from Krispy Kreme, this is a very sweet collaboration:
A collision has happened! The Light & Airy #OriginalGlazed #doughnut meets Krispety & Crunchety #Butterfinger! In participating US shops through 3/13! All info here https://t.co/J0wv0YHyAg. #KrispyKreme #KrispetyCrunchety pic.twitter.com/5ttAwOY1m1
