Cancer is a horrible disease that requires a tough emotional, physical and medical fight.

It is the second-leading cause of death in the United States, according to the Mayo Clinic. However, thanks to medical advancements, survival rates have improved--and are improving.

Outside of those hospital walls and away from the chemotherapy drips, it's the inspirational stories of someone's fight and the support from the communities that live on--no matter the outcome.

The Joy Bus is a Valley not-for-profit organization that delivers chef-inspired meals to those in the Valley who are fighting cancer. It's drivers hope to deliver healthy meals and a friendly smile to those in one of the hardest fights of their life.

The people behind Joy Bus have now started a new venture--they've opened a diner.

The Joy Bus Diner will serve made-from-scratch breakfast and lunch options to support the organization. All of its proceeds will be used to help deliver more meals to the Valley.

It is located near just east of State Route 51 along Shea Boulevard.
