September is known as National Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.

According to the National Cancer Institute, an estimated 10,000 children -- from birth to 14 -- in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Some likely already have. Over 1,200 will lose their battle.

At Phoenix Children's Hospital, 300 children are diagnosed with cancer each year.
