PHOENIX — If you're looking for something to do over the Labor Day weekend and want to beat the heat for a few hours, why not head to the movies?
Harkins Theatres is offering $5 movie tickets -- that includes new releases, 3-D movies, and its Cine 1 and Cine Capri auditoriums -- at all of its theaters from Friday, Aug. 30 to Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019.
To get the deal, you have to be part of Harkins rewards program (it's free to join), My Harkins Rewards. You can sign up online or via the mobile app. Those who are not part of the program, will still get a slight discount of $8 movie tickets.

IMAX movies and "special programming" are not part of the promotion, according to a news release.
For comparison, pricing for movies at Harkins Theatre at Tempe Marketplace typically varies between $7-$14, depending if it is a normal screening, matinee, 3D, or in the Cine Capri auditorium. At its Scottsdale 101 Theatre, near the Loop 101 and Scottsdale Road, pricing varies between $8-$15.
