PHOENIX — Whether you're looking to beat the heat with a sweet treat or are simply craving some creamy custard, Freddy's Steakburgers is offering a one-day deal for "National Frozen Custard Day."

The fast-food chain known for its steakburgers is offering custard cones, cups, and cookie sandwiches for $1 on Thursday, Aug. 8 (that's today!).

Fifty-cents from every cone, cup, or sandwich sold will be donated to the "Kids In Need Foundation," an organization that provides free school supplies to kids in need, the restaurant said.

There are more than a dozen locations around the Valley.

  • Andy's Frozen Custard is selling $0.86-cent small cones all day. It aligns will 1986, the year the first Andy's location opened. There are three locations in the Valley: Ahwatukee and two in Mesa. More information.
